Loaves & Fishes
Believing that all people in our community should be able to m
eet their basic hunger needs and that we are called to share our resources, Loaves & Fishes' mission is to provide groceries and support to people in crisis.
Loaves & Fishes provides a week's worth of nutritious groceries to individuals and families in a short-term crisis. The organization is a nondenominational one, founded and operated by local religous congregations and community organizations in Mecklenburg County, NC.
In 2012, SMPC collected 4,985 pounds of food with an estimated value of $8,275.10 for Loaves and Fishes. This collection equates to providing 249 people with one week’s groceries.

The following is a list of items requested by Loaves & Fishes: canned fruit, 100% juice, pork and beans, peanut butter, canned meat, and soup.
