Mission and Purpose of a Planned Giving Program
- Provides for a third channel of financial support for the church ( in addition to stewardship and capital campaigns)
- Allows for the gifting of various assets from a variety of sources (stock certificates, beneficiary of life insurance proceeds, etc.)
- Establish an Endowment Fund for the ongoing legacy work of the church
- Promote and educate the congregation on life giving
Types of Gifts to consider
- Outright gift of cash or property
- Naming the church as beneficiary on a life insurance policy
- Make a specific gift through your will or your living trust
- Name SMPC as beneficiary to retirement plan
- Advanced Gifts – Charitable Remainder Trust, etc.
These Gifts will Make a Difference
- Why Give – inspired to donate to the continuing work of the church
- Consider the legacy you want to leave and inspiring others to follow your lead
- Promoting or supporting various missions of the church – music ministry, children’s ministry, adult education, building and grounds
- Help to form a financial foundation for future needs of the church
