Bread Donation & Delivery Ministry
Each Thursday, volunteers from Food Recovery Group deliver Panera Bread donations to SMPC. In turn, SMPC volunteers inventory and package the bread for delivery to the shelters.
On the second, third, fourth and fifth Fridays of the month, SMPC volunteers deliver the bread to Men's Shelter of Charlotte and on the first Saturday, the Center of Hope cooking teams deliver the bread to Center of Hope.
Spoon it Up Offering
On the fourth Sunday of each month, we collect a special offering that is distributed to local agencies that provide hunger relief.
Fill bottles with body wash, shampoo and laundry detergent.
Salvation Army Christmas Stockings
Since 2003, SMPC has participated in this annual project. The Salvation Army distributes Christmas stockings to needy children in Mecklenburg and Union counties. In 2013, SMPC provided 388 filled stockings to The Salvation Army!
Christmas Alternative Gift Market
Each Christmas season, alternative gifts are available for purchase at SMPC. Local agencies have displays in the Sanctuary hallways.
Our local agencies are also in need of resources beyond money. You may give a gift of your time and/or talents by pledging these resources to honor your loved ones.
With each purchase, you will receive a gift card and note that can be given to your recipient acknowledging the item purchased or pledge made in their honor. We will also offer modestly priced gifts appropriate for children to give.
