September 11, 2024Middle Schoolers Connect, Grow in Faith at Fall Middle School Retreat
Our middle schoolers spent the weekend growing in faith and connecting at the Fall Middle School Retreat! Middle Schoolers participated in Bible study at the church, small groups and games at Camp Canaan, and bouncing fun at Adventure Air. During the retreat, middle schoolers prayed on the passage “Fan into the flame the gift of God” (2 Timothy 1:6) and were reminded of the ways in which God breaks into our lives and into our world to ignite the spark within us so that we can be the spark of light for others.

First BAM! of the School Years Goes Off with a Bang!
Our first BAM! (Bible and Music) of the school year this past Sunday, September 8 was GREAT! Thirty children, ages kindergarten through 5th grade attended and enjoyed Bible stories, crafts, music and pizza. BAM! Is held on select Sundays through May and is a great way for children to foster friendships at church. Our next BAM! will be on Sunday, September 22, 5:00-6:30 p.m. The group meets in the narthex. Please register on Realm prior to attending so we have a headcount for pizza!

Traffic Circle Project Continues in Right (and Left) Direction
Things seem to be moving right along with the Bryant Farms Rd/Blakeney Health Rd traffic circle project. This week crews dug a GIGANTIC (that’s a very technical word, we know!) hole for a 12-inch water main pipe right outside the upper entrance to the church. We continue to be grateful for the crew’s diligence in working safely and as quickly as possible, and we can’t wait for these community improvements! The City of Charlotte is still anticipating opening the intersection on Friday, October 25, 2024.
