SMPC invites our community into a depth of knowledge about God and relationship with God through study, prayer, worship, and meaningful connection with peers across generations. One of the ways we do this is through adult studies and groups.

The ongoing groups listed below are always open to new members, and we often have short-term studies as well. Our Director of Spiritual Formation would be delighted to have a conversation to help you discover what group might fit you best!

SUNDAY MORNING CLASSES

THE SYMBOLS OF ADVENT
SUNDAYS BEGINNING DECEMBER 8 - 9:00-10:00AM

Sundays, Beginning December 8, 9:00 -10:00 a.m., McQueen Room or Zoom - Join this three-week study to explore the Advent symbols, such as the dove, wreath, and candle. Each of these symbols has theological meaning and each can guide us as we prepare for the arrival of Christ, our Savior. We will examine each symbol and its faith story as we discuss the meaning of Advent as a time of expectation and hope. Through these symbols we will explore Biblical themes such as the light of Jesus Christ, the eternal love of God, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Contact: Melissa White
