Welcome

What a blessing that God led you to our church. Here are some frequently asked questions and answers to help you get acquainted.

South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church is an inclusive, vibrant faith community located in the Ballantyne neighborhood of Charlotte, NC. We seek to worship, grow and serve with intention as disciples of Jesus Christ and strive to be a place where all are welcomed and made to feel at home. We are members of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

We are led by our pastor, Dr. Matt Brown, and associate pastors, Dr. Whitney Bayer and Rev. Lindsey Odom. Join us for worship every Sunday at 10:10 a.m. in the sanctuary or livestream.

How do I contact you?
SMPC's physical address is 8601 Bryant Farms Road, Charlotte, NC, 28277. You can call the church office at 704-544-0404 or email us [email protected]. The office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. We are closed on Fridays.
When can I worship on Sundays?
10:10 a.m. worship is in our sanctuary or Livestream.

Childcare is available for birth to 3 years. After worship, please join us for coffee, lemonade and cookies–served inside or outside depending on the season.
What do you offer for children on Sunday mornings?
We offer a unique option for children at SMPC. Children's Worship for ages 4 through 3rd grade is held during the 10:10 a.m. worship service. The children will leave the sanctuary after the anthem and return after the sermon to conclude the worship service with their families.
Where do I park?
Please park in one of our visitor parking spots reserved just for you. These parking spots are located directly across from the main doors to our sanctuary. Enter our property through the main driveway off of Blakeney Heath Road; turn left before you get to the circle.
Are visitors welcome at any service or activity?
Yes! SMPC welcomes guests to Sunday worship and many programs throughout the week. With the church's location in fast-growing south Charlotte, SMPC often gets the privilege of saying hello to newcomers.
As a visitor, will I need to do anything special?
No. Guests often like to check out SMPC without making a big splash. The church does not ask for anyone to identify themselves. SMPC won't contact you unless you would like to share your information.
What should I wear?
SMPC is by no means a dressy church. Men wear everything from jackets and ties to slacks and sports shirts. Women wear everything from dresses to slacks and casual shirts.
What about children?
SMPC loves little ones! We strive to ensure that families are comfortable having their infants and young children in worship with them or dropping them off in the nursery. In either setting, your children will be welcomed and loved. The nursery at SMPC is staffed by experienced, background-checked, trained childcare professionals. We have one room for babies and another for toddlers, 2s, and 3s. We use a three-part sticker system for safety and communication.
