There are many ways for youth to learn about the importance of stewardship at church!
- Pray and reflect on what portion of your allowance, birthday money, or earnings from a part-time job God is calling you to give to your church and community.
- Talk with your parents about how your giving can be part of your family’s overall commitment, but also your own personal expression of faith.
- Learn about where your gift goes—ask a pastor, youth pastor, or parent how offerings support worship, mission trips, youth group, and outreach to the community.
- Write down your own pledge for the coming year and make it part of your faith journey. What you decide today is a way of saying, “God, I want to be part of your holy work.”
- Set a giving goal that stretches you a little but is realistic and something that you can follow through with during the year.
- Commit to consistency—decide if you’ll give weekly, monthly, or as you receive income, and make it a spiritual discipline.
- Bring your pledge card forward on Commitment Sunday as a sign of your dedication and faith.
- Use our offering envelopes or online giving at our website so you can keep track of your gifts and see your progress throughout the year.
- Celebrate your impact by asking to hear stories of how youth offerings, along with the church’s gifts, make a difference locally and globally.
- Encourage your friends in youth group to make their own pledges so that together you can see how God uses your generation’s gifts for the church’s mission.
