Seen Around Church: Week of December 21, 2025
December 23, 2025Shelter Ministry Fills Over 700 Bottles, Needs Body Wash Donations
The Shelter Ministry met last week and filled 701 prescription vials with body wash for our neighbors in need at Roof Above. The group had a special guest, Roof Above’s Davidson Impact Fellow Isabelle Polgar, who visited to gather information for a spotlight in Roof Above’s publications. More to come on that, but in the meantime, enjoy some of these photos – some taken by SMPC and some captured by Isabelle. Ron Morgan delivered the body wash to Roof Above, and was met by Roof Above’s Curtis, who helps with deliveries and maintenance.
Heads up: the Shelter Ministry needs body wash donations. Please drop donations by the church office. Additionally, they will be collecting dental supplies for Roof Above in the new year. Contact Carol Morgan with any questions!
Ring, Ring, Ringing for Good!
Here are just a couple of snapshots of some of our SMPC ringers this year! For the past three Saturdays, SMPC has supported the Salvation Army through bell ringing at Belk, SouthPark Mall. We are so grateful to all those who have donated their time and cheerfulness to this important cause. We will have bell totals soon!

A Festival of Carols to Remember
Festival of Carols, one of the best nights of the season! Thank you to our incredible Music Ministry, led by Director of Music and Organist Zach Bowyer, for leading us through a beautiful “Journey to Bethlehem!” We felt the joy, peace and anticipation in the coming Christ so fully tonight! We are forever grateful for the love, dedication and God-given gifts all ages of our Music Ministry bring to SMPC!!
We were once again blessed to have SMPC member and photographer Tom Schellin there to take photos. Enjoy!! You’re the best, Tom!

Local Toastmasters Group Hosts Youth Event in Mecklenburg Hall
The Carolina Palms Gavel Club, a local chapter of Toastmasters International’s Gavel Club program, recently held a speech contest tournament and Christmas party in Mecklenburg Hall. The club is designed for youth (often middle/high school) or groups facing age/circumstance barriers, and focuses on developing public speaking, leadership, and confidence through structured meetings, speeches, and exercises. We are blessed to be able to share our space with the community!
