SMPC volunteers Tim Maguire, Cathy Janney, Terry Gaines and Donna Ramsey assisted the Red Cross staff in running a smooth and efficient blood drive. SMPC Collects over 2,000 Pounds of Food for NourishUp
In a very critical time for our neighbors in need, we collected 2,108 lbs of food for Nourish Up’s pantry. While this barely scratches the surfact of addressing the need in our community, we hope that it helps feed our neighbors who are most vulnerable. Thank you to our volunteers and youth who took time out of their day off from school to help us load the Nourish Up truck with canned and dry goods!!! And thank you, SMPC, for your generous spirit!

Pastor Celebrates Last Communion with SMPC
In a month full of “lasts” for Dr. Matt Brown, pastor of SMPC for over 21 years, this was the “first of the lasts.” On Sunday, November 2, Matt shared the last communion with us. There were tears of sadness and joy as we celebrate his wonderful ministry and impact he’s had on our faith community. These photos are a few snapshots after worship!

Wednesday Morning Bible Study Celebrates Pastor’s Birthday
Pastor Matt Brown’s Wednesday Bible study (“Conversations with Matt Brown”) met at its regularly scheduled time on Wednesday with a packed house. After the study, the group celebrated Matt’s upcoming 65th birthday with cake, cookies and coffee. The church will celebrate Matt’s birthday this Sunday with cake after worship – don’t miss it!
There is one more opportunity to join in on Matt’s Bible study – his last meeting will be next Wednesday, November 12, 9:30 a.m. in the McQueen Room or Zoom.
