Seen Around Church: Week of November 2, 2025
November 5, 2025By Director of Spiritual Formation Rebecca Guzman
1. The Great Ends of the Church
This week we focus on the fourth Great End of the Church: “the preservation of the truth.” Jesus tells Pilate, “Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice” (John 18:37). We remember that truth is not just something we know—it’s something we live. In worship and in daily life, we listen for God’s voice and follow it. Psalm 25 reminds us to ask God to lead us in truth and teach us the right way to go.

2. Read Aloud Story Connection
Read Seven Blind Mice by Ed Young or watch this read-aloud version. In this story, a group of mice discover something new near their pond. Each mouse investigates only part of it and guesses what it might be. Not until the last mouse looks at the whole thing do they realize it’s an elephant! As Elizabeth Boulware-Landes explains, Pilate tries to understand who Jesus is by asking questions, but he can only see one part of the truth. To fully know who Jesus is, we need to look from many angles—and trust that God helps us see the whole picture.

4. Wonder Together
-
I wonder how we can listen for God’s truth.
-
I wonder why Jesus said he came to tell the truth.
-
I wonder what it means to see the whole picture of who Jesus is.
-
I wonder how we can help others find what is true.
