December 24, 2024Seen Around Church: Week of December 22, 2024
December 25, 2024In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it. – John 1:1-5

In the Beginning
In the beginning, you were loved.
From the foundation of the world, you were known.
You are God’s dream.
There has never been a moment when the Creator of the Universe did not look upon you and marvel at the pure wonder of you.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and he loved you.
In the beginning was the light,
And the light is in all people,
And the light is in you.
You are God’s dream.
(a poem from Dreams of the Holy Night: A Festival of Carols)
The music from this year’s Festival of Carols was enhanced with beautiful poetry written by Director of Spiritual Formation Rebecca Guzman. If you’d like to read the poetry and Bible readings from the evening, find them here.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
