Luke 11:1-13 (Lord’s Prayer)
- Learn the Lord’s Prayer with Motions: When Jesus’ friends asked how to pray, he taught them what we now call the Lord’s Prayer. Learning it with motions can help us remember it better. You can try the American Sign Language version here, which is longer but very meaningful. Or, you can learn a simpler motion version here, which uses different words but is easy to understand and fun to follow.
- Lord’s Prayer Relay Game: Play a relay game to practice parts of the Lord’s Prayer. Write each phrase of the prayer on separate pieces of paper. Spread them out around your space. One person at a time runs to pick up a phrase, then everyone works together to put the phrases in the correct order. If you are playing with just a couple of people, hide the phrases and search for them. Say the whole prayer aloud once you have it in the right order.
- Make a Lord’s Prayer Mini Book: Use this printable Lord’s Prayer foldable booklet to color and fold your own book. It is a great way to help memorize the prayer and talk about what each part means. You can even keep it with your Bible or bedtime prayers.
- Wonder Questions
- I wonder why Jesus taught his friends to pray this way.
- I wonder which part of the Lord’s Prayer is your favorite.
- I wonder when you like to pray.
- I wonder what it means to ask for daily bread.
