- The Great Ends of the Church
The third Great End of the Church is “the maintenance of divine worship.” Worship is how we say “thank you” to God and celebrate God’s love together. Psalm 29 calls all creation to praise, and Hebrews 12 reminds us to worship God “with reverence and awe.” Learn more about Presbyterian worship here. - Read Aloud and Creative Response
Read Psalm 29 and Hebrews 12:28–29 together as a family. Take turns reading verses aloud and listen for words or images that stand out to you. Talk about what the “voice of the Lord” might sound like in nature or in your life. Maybe you’ll want to draw, paint, or create something that comes to mind as you hear these verses—thunder, light, water, trees, or anything that helps you picture worshiping God with all creation. - Game: Worship Freeze Dance
Play a game of Freeze Dance using songs from the Compassion Camp: What Every Living Thing Needs playlist. When the music stops, everyone freezes! The leader then invites one person to name something they are thankful for or something that helps them worship God. Then the music starts again! Keep going until everyone has shared. - Wonder Together
- I wonder what helps you feel close to God in worship.
- I wonder what it means to worship with awe and gratitude.
- I wonder why the psalm says that even thunder and trees praise God.
- I wonder how we can worship God all week long, not just on Sundays.
