Read The Thank You Book: Read or watch The Thank You Book by Mo Willems. Piggie decides to become a “thanking machine” and thank everyone who has been part of her life. Talk about why saying “thank you” matters. Who are people you want to thank? What would it look like for your household to become “thanking machines”?
- Make a Gratitude Flower: Create a gratitude flower. On each petal, write or draw something you are thankful for—people, places, experiences, or things you know about God.
- Play the Gratitude Dice Game: Grab a die and play the Gratitude Dice Game together. Each roll gives you something different to think about and share. Can you come up with something new each time?
- Wonder Together
- Who are some people you are especially thankful for? Is there someone at church you could thank this week?
- What are some things about God for which you are thankful?
- Paul tells us to “give thanks in all circumstances.” When might it be hard to give thanks?
- Being a “thanking machine” takes practice! How could your family make a habit of noticing things to be thankful for each day?
