Nancy Metzler, director of hospitality and connection, is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere at SMPC that encourages new membership and promotes membership connection, assimilation, and engagement.
One of Nancy’s greatest gifts is making people feel comfortable and at home. She loves to help people identify their God-given gifts, skills, and talents and find ways for them to serve others and fulfill needs at SMPC. Whether it’s through a small group, a Bible study, a service project, or a ministry team, Nancy helps our members find their place at SMPC.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Davidson College.
As the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, Nancy’s family moved around quite a bit, but she and her husband, Charlie, have called Charlotte home for more than 30 years. The couple has three grown children who were all confirmed at SMPC, Elizabeth, Andrew, and John, two grand-dogs, Auggie and Cocoa, one grandson, Henry, and one granddaughter on the way. Andrew, his wife, Jessica, and Henry are also members of SMPC.
