August 21, 2024SMPC Hosts American Red Cross Blood Drive
Thank you to all who donated blood and/or volunteered at our American Red Cross Blood Drive on Saturday, August 10. The Red Cross has stated that it’s in dire need of blood donations, and SMPC and our surrounding community showed up in a big way. We had 25 donors give blood and 5 donors give Power Red (a whole blood donation), and we collected 35 units of blood (3 units above our average of 32). Thank you, thank you! Our next Red Cross Blood Drive is Saturday, November 2, 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Commons. Sign up to donate or volunteer!

SMPC Celebrates Completion of Columbarium
Our beautiful Columbarium is complete, and it’s already offering such beauty and peace on campus. We pray that it is a space for our families and friends to pray, reflect and celebrate life for many years to come. Thank you to the hard work of many SMPC members who helped make this idea a reality. For more information on the columbarium and purchasing a niche, please see our website or contact Charlie Metzler.
Big Round of a Paws for this Special Church Visitor!
We had the cutest visitor ever in the church office this week! Molly Brown, the new fur baby of Pastor Matt Brown and his wife Donna, made a guest appearance on Tuesday afternoon. She is smart AND pretty and has us all wrapped around her cute little paw! Congratulations, Matt and Donna!
Troop 119 Soaks up the Summer Sun along the Virginia Creeper Trail
Troop 119 Charlotte was at the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus, VA over the weekend! Most of the youth and adults did a 50-mile bike ride, and the others biked between 17-25 miles. Amazing! Even better, the weather was!!! Way to go, Scouts!
