December 4, 2024SMPC Rings in the Christmas Season
SMPC members and friends rang in the Christmas season by taking part in the Salvation Army’s Bell Ringing efforts at Belk at SouthPark mall on Saturday, November 30. We’ll be ringing in two-hour shifts on Saturdays until December 21. If you aren’t already signed up to ring and have a chance to stop by the mall, our SMPC ringers would love to see you!

SMPC “Christmas Elves” Get Ready for AGM
So much goes on behind the scenes during the Advent Season! Thank you to our many helpers who make it all happen so we focus on the hope of Jesus’ birth! On Tuesday, December 3, Ann Whitlock and Judy Jones helped set up for in-person shopping of the Alternative Gift Market (AGM). AGM comes to fruition every year because of the hard work of SO many on our Missions/Outreach Committee. Come shop with us this Sunday, December 8 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or online anytime. The gift of GIVING never gets old!
Beep! Beep! Major Improvements Coming to Roads Around SMPC…But First We Wait
In case you missed the important traffic circle update and upcoming road closures, please see details below. We also wanted to share a few pictures of the traffic circle progress! Once completed, the traffic circle will make getting to and from church so much safer and easier if you are driving in from Bryant Farms/Elm Ln. And, the sidewalks and pedestrian crosswalks will be GAME CHANGERS for walkers and runners. We are so excited about all of these improvements!
From the City of Charlotte: Work continues on the Bryant Farms Road Extension project as the project team prepares for the next phase of road work. Blakeney Heath Road (between Elm Ln and Parks Farm) remains closed, and Parks Farm Lane will close starting tomorrow, Friday, December 6, 2024.
The work involves tying in the Blakeney Heath Road work with the Parks Farm Lane intersection, finishing sidewalk and curb ramps and the church driveway at the intersection. That small section of Blakeney Heath Road and Park Farms Lane are expected to re-open on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
PLEASE NOTE: During this time, you will only be able to access the church via Blakeney Heath Road (via Ardrey Kell Rd).
