SMPC’s Women’s Advent Tea: Steeping in Friendship and Love
The women of SMPC and their friends gathered together Saturday morning, December 7, for one of our favorite Advent traditions at SMPC – the Women’s Advent Tea! Over delicious spiced tea and yummy chicken salad croissants, we reconnected with old friends, made new friends and felt the immense hope and joy of the season. With a heartfelt and thought-provoking meditation led by church member Allison Reeves, we paused and reflected on the many ways we can see and feel God in our lives. Thank you to EVERYONE who made today possible and thank you to everyone who joined us. Our Hospitality Committee is second to none!!! ☕️🫖🎄✝️🕯️

SMPC Shops with Purpose
On Sunday, December 8, we welcomed agencies from around the community to SMPC for this year’s Alternative Gift Market (AGM). It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about how we can help those in need – not just during the holidays, but all year round. Thank you to those who shopped in person! If you couldn’t join us on Sunday, you can still shop online until December 25. Giving back to the community might just be the perfect gift to give to someone you love!
Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers who coordinate this important mission every year!

Prepare Him Room
We loved spending time together Sunday afternoon preparing candles for our Candlelight Communion worship on Christmas Eve (5:00 pm. and 8:00 p.m.) While of our youngest candle assemblers might attend the Family Worship at 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, they still joyfully lent a helping hand, and we couldn’t be more thankful!

A Little Rain Doesn’t Scare Weekly Bible Study Group
Even with persistent, nasty weather in the area on Wednesday morning, Pastor Matt Brown’s weekly Bible study filled up the McQueen Room. Interested in joining in? There is always “room at the inn” and space for more chairs. This group will meet next Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. in the McQueen Room or Zoom before taking a break for the holidays. They study the scripture for the upcoming Sunday. Contact: Matt Brown
