January 17, 2024SMPC Celebrates Anniversary of Associate Pastor
We had fun celebrating the 6th anniversary of Associate Pastor Dr. Whitney Bayer and her family joining SMPC! Whitney’s first Sunday with us was on January 7, 2018. Since then, we have been blessed with her leadership, compassion and guidance as we journey together as a faith community…and we have LOVED watching her sweet children grow before our eyes! Thank you, Whitney and family, for being such a light in our congregation!
Middle and High Schoolers Gather for Fun and Fellowship at BYG
January BYG (Big Youth Group) was amazing! Forty-two middle and high schoolers joined to study Psalm 92 and have fun and fellowship. It was a GREAT way to kick off the new year!
SMPC College Students Attend Conference Over Winter Break
SMPC members and college students Chloe Davis and Courtney Parrish attended the College Conference at Montreat over winter break. We are praying for them and all of our college students as they begin a new semester.
BSA Troop 119 Enjoys Gift Exchange
BSA Troop 119 had a gift exchange and pasta dinner on Monday, January 8 in Mecklenburg Hall. The gift exchange was a “white elephant” exchange where boys could “steal” gifts from each other – lots of laughs ensued!
Cassie the Church Dog Preps for Inclement Weather
Cassie, our beloved church dog, was ready for Tuesday’s nasty weather in her brand new rain boots and rain coat. We love that Cassie can play so many roles here at SMPC: therapist, snuggler, protector and now fashion icon!
