Church Family Moment for Sunday, July 19, 2026
July 15, 2026Joy to the World!
What a blessing it was to celebrate Christmas in July this past Sunday with our ministry partner Konpayon! Thank you to EVERYONE who donated to the drive. So far, the total donated for Christmas in July is $2,060! We originally hoped to raise enough money to sponsor two 13th graders, but thanks to your generosity, we are able to sponsor four 13th graders! And, we are SO CLOSE to being able to sponsor one more student!
The link to donate will be live through the end of July.
Thank you so much to Melissa Hoffman, Executive Director of Konpayon, Sherri Buzard, co-chair of Konpayon’s Board of Directors, as well as SMPC members Judy Jones, Judy Nichols and Donna Podgorny, and Rev. Lindsey Odom, Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions/Outreach for coordinating this meaningful drive and for the love, dedication and longtime support of the students of Haiti!

Sun City Group Beats the Summer Heat
The SMPC Sun City group met last Friday for their monthly summertime ice cream social and fellowship. Due to the extreme heat and threat of thunderstorms, they opted to move their gathering from the outdoor pavilion in Sun City to nearby Culver's. They had a great experience! They were met with kind hospitality, various discounts, and a manager who offered to take a group photo for them. Thank you, Culver's, for taking such great care of our SMPC family! The group says they will definitely be back.
The next meeting of the SMPC Sun City group will be on Friday, August 7, 2:00 p.m. at the SCCL Lodge pavilion (weather permitting). Contact Debbie Stenvall for more information.

SMPC High Schoolers Spending Week in Montreat
Our high schoolers left on Sunday afternoon to attend the Montreat Youth Conference in Montreat, NC. We commissioned our youth participants during Sunday worship, and Transitional Pastor Sandy Hull led them in prayer before departure. We pray that they feel God’s Spirit move through them and with them throughout the week! More to come!
