SMPC Serves a Nourishing Breakfast to Center of Hope Residents

Our Center of Hope Breakfast ministry served breakfast to residents on Saturday, March 16.

“The dining room was busy with God’s children of all ages!” said SMPC member and breakfast server Donna Podgorny. “From the one-week-old to the gray-haired crew; from those young enough to dance in and hug you to those infirm enough that they couldn’t carry their own food or drink, they left appreciative and well-fed.”

Some of the things overhead at breakfast, Donna said, were “Real milk!” “Eggs, please, the doctors say I need protein.” “You have bacon!?” “Oh, coffee, it’s cold out.” 

The servers on March 16 were Bacon Bill Ramsey, Donna Ramsey, Linda and Brett Thompson, Donna Podgorny and Bob Williamson. 

Many thanks to the wonderful SMPC members who donated the food to make this event possible.

SMPC Members Spruce Up Campus for Spring

Thank you to members of the Property Committee and church volunteers for making our campus beautiful and ready for spring! While no photos were taken during Campus Cleanup on Saturday, March 16, we snapped this photo of Facilities Administrator Steve Stevenson laying extra mulch before rain hit last week. Thank you to everyone who works so hard to make sure our grounds reflect God’s beauty!

SMPC Celebrates the Beginning of Holy Week

Hosanna! Palm/Passion Sunday marked the beginning of Holy Week and was the day we followed Jesus in his journey to the cross. Together, as a faith community, we were reminded to welcome Jesus into our hearts and be ready to follow Him.

SMPC Youth Gather for Small Group Dinners

Troop 219 Inducts First Female to Eagle Court of Honor

Congratulations to Brooke Dabney who became Troop 219’s first female inducted into the Eagle Court of Honor! The ceremony took place Sunday night, March 24, in Mecklenburg Hall.
