Seen Around Church: Week of February 1, 2026
February 3, 2026By Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions/Outreach Lindsey Odom
These pieces of art, created by SMPC middle and high schoolers, reflect our Youth Sunday theme, “Just as I am/Endlessly Enough,” rooted in 1 John 3:1–3 and the truth that we are already God’s beloved children. The strong base of the tree represents the unshakable foundation of God’s love, reminding us that our worth is not defined by success, failure, or expectation, but by God alone. The growing branches show how we continue to grow into who God created us to be, while the fingerprints along them reflect each youth’s unique identity and gifts. The patchwork of fabric symbolizes life in community, stitched together through shared experiences and faith.
What began as a sketch at a high school small group dinner came to life through many hands, becoming a truly communal piece. The Charlotte skyline grounds us in where God has planted us, and the SMPC cross anchors everything in God’s endless and abundant love. Together, this artwork proclaims that we belong, we are becoming, and we are all endlessly enough, just as we are.
SMPC has an active Youth Ministry and Youth Music Ministry. Youth group typically meets on Sundays during the school year, 5:00-6:30 p.m. Check out the SMPC Youth page for a full list of youth events or contact Rev. Lindsey Odom. Youth Choir and Youth Handbell rehearsals are Sundays during the school year, 3:45-5:00 p.m. Contact Director of Music and Organist Zach Bowyer for more information on the Youth Music Ministry.
