Seen Around Church: Week of May 31, 2026
June 3, 2026By Rev. Lindsey Odom, Associate Pastor of Youth and Mission/Outreach
During the Church Family Moment, we give you some ways to creatively engage with the scripture, whether you are worshipping with us from home or in person.
- Celebrate Our Graduates
Today we celebrate our high school and college graduates and the ways they have grown in faith, hope, life, and love within our church family. In Psalm 34, we are invited to “taste and see that the Lord is good,” and in 1 John 3, we are reminded that we are called children of God. As our graduates step into new seasons, we remember that God is good, God’s love goes with them, and they never walk alone.
- Read Aloud: When God Made You
Listen to a readaloud of When God Made You by Matthew Paul Turner. This beautiful story reminds us that every person is uniquely created and deeply loved by God. As you listen, think about the ways God has made you special and the people who remind you that you belong.
- Art Activity: “When You Think About God’s Love”
If you are attending children’s worship this morning, you will receive a paper picture frame. Inside the frame is a space that represents you. You can draw yourself, write your name, or leave it blank. Around the border of the frame, use words, pictures, colors, or patterns to show what comes to mind when you think about God’s love. You might draw hearts, light, family, church, nature, or anything else that reminds you that you are loved by God. At home, you can recreate the activity by drawing a picture frame on a piece of paper and following the same instructions.
- Wonder Questions
- Where have you “tasted and seen” that God is good?
- What does it mean to you to be a beloved child of God?
- Where have you experienced God’s love through another person?
- How can you remind someone else that they are loved and not alone?
