2027 Stewardship: Whitney Gann Moment for Mission
October 12, 2026SMPC Youth Answer the Call to Serve
On Sunday, October 11, our middle and high schoolers made 1,039 sandwiches for our neighbors at Roof Above during Operation Sandwich! What a meaningful way for our youth to put their faith into action.
A big thank you to all the wonderful adults who joined them and helped make this mission possible! Thank you to Susan and Wyatt Hicks for delivering the sandwiches to Roof Above! We are so grateful for the many hands and hearts that came together to love and serve our neighbors!

Wonderful News from Freedom School Partners
We are thrilled to get this amazing message from Freedom School Partners:
"Of the 606 scholars that attended Freedom School this summer, 82% maintained or improved their reading ability."
Incredible! SMPC is so grateful for our partnership with Freedom School Partners and for the opportunity to support such an impactful ministry in our community. It is exciting to see the difference being made in the lives of these scholars and their families!

Scouts Build Benches for SMPC, Community
Over the weekend, Scouts from Troop 119 and 219 worked on their Eagle projects at SMPC. Will L. (Troop 119) built benches for SMPC's fire pit, and Sreeja M. (Troop 219) built benches for Atrium Health, Pineville. We are so proud (and grateful!) for their work - especially as we get into supreme "fire pit and s'mores" season at SMPC!
