What Does It Mean To Be Presbyterian?
September 27, 2023Seen Around Church: Week of October 1, 2023
October 4, 2023For over 15 years, SMPC has been collecting canned and dry goods for the Loaves & Fishes food pantry. In that time, we have donated over 65,000 pounds of food for our neighbors who struggle with food insecurity.
This year is no exception. Throughout October, SMPC will be collecting canned and dry goods for the food pantry. There is a MAJOR food insecurity crisis in Charlotte right now, so they NEED OUR HELP! The following is a list of items the pantry requests:
- Boxed mac n’ cheese
- Grits
- Rice
- Beans
- Protein-Rich Soups
- Canned pasta with meat (such as ravioli or spaghetti with meatballs)
- Canned fruit
- Oatmeal
- Canned meat
- Dry Pasta
- Canned vegetables
- Peanut Butter
- Diapers
Please do not include any glass bottles or containers. The bags will be available to pick up outside the sanctuary on October 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Please place your donations of non-perishable food items in these bags and return to the church by October 29th for deliver to the food pantry. Financial donations are also accepted. Please make checks payable to SMPC & indicate “Loaves & Fishes” in the memo line. Please deliver to the church office or in the offering plate. Contact: Rev. Lindsey Odom, [email protected].
