Seen Around Church – Week of October 19, 2025
October 22, 2025By Director of Spiritual Formation Rebecca Guzman
- The Great Ends of the Church
The second Great End of the Church is “the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God.” This reminds us that the Church is a family—a place where we care for one another, learn together, and grow in faith. God calls us to make spaces where everyone—young and old—is safe, seen, and supported in faith. - Bible Story Search
Use your Bible to look up stories about children. You might read about baby Moses (Exodus 2), Samuel hearing God’s voice (1 Samuel 3), Jesus as a boy in the temple (Luke 2), or the boy who shared his lunch (John 6). Talk about what each story teaches us about how God loves, calls, and uses children. - Family Connection Activity
Try using the Do You Know Scale to learn more about one another. These questions help families share stories, listen, and build trust. Families who talk openly about their experiences are more likely to pass down faith and values from one generation to the next. - Wonder Together
- I wonder why Jesus wanted the children to come to him.
- I wonder what it means to “shelter” someone.
- I wonder who helps you feel nurtured in your faith.
- I wonder how we can help others feel included and cared for in our church family.
