Celebrate World Communion Sunday: Today is World Communion Sunday! Christians all over the world are celebrating Communion, or the Lord’s Supper. Here are some things Presbyterians believe about Communion:
- It is more than a symbol, but we do not believe the bread and cup actually become Jesus’ body and blood.
- Jesus is mysteriously present with us at the Table.
- We are united with “all the saints of every time and place”—Christians around the world and those who have gone before us.
- Communion strengthens us to go out and love and serve in the world.
- Everyone is welcome at the Table, regardless of age or faith background.
- Color and Pray: Print and color this Communion coloring page. As you color, think and pray about what Communion means to you and what it means to belong to a worldwide family of people who follow Jesus.
- Read We Gather at This Table: Listen to a read-aloud of We Gather at This Table. Afterward, talk together: What did you notice about Communion? What does sharing a meal have to do with being part of God’s family?

- What do you think it means that Christians all over the world share this meal?
- Who prepares the food you eat, and who helps bring it to your table?
- How can sharing food be a way of caring for someone?
- How might Communion help us remember to share what God has given us?
