LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!!
We are so proud of our Men's Softball team, which brought home the league championship Friday night!! No doubt in part thanks to its amazing cheering section (pictured here)! Great job, guys!! What a fun summer season!!
The Men's Softball team plays June-August and is always looking for new members. Contact Jimmy Galati or Michael Choren to get connected anytime - they know no off-season!

SMPC Commissions New Confirmands
On Sunday, August 16, we commissioned 18 confirmands and mentors in worship and officially kicked off the journey together over breakfast! We are so excited to walk alongside these youth as they ask questions, grow in faith, and discover more deeply what it means to belong to God and to our church family. Thank you to Rev. Lindsey Odom for her leadership and all of our mentors for their guidance and love. We will continue to keep these youth in our prayers!

Helping Our Neighbors in Need
This past Sunday, members of our Missions & Outreach Committee, as well as some of the moms’ groups, children, youth, and other members of our congregation, came together to serve Ballantyne Families Helping Neighbors in Need (BFHNIN) by packing 100 easy-to-prep meal kits and decorating cards to accompany each one.
Each kit contains the ingredients needed to prepare a family meal, helping reduce some of the stress families experiencing food insecurity face by making meals simple, affordable, and accessible.
BFHNIN operates a food pantry located at Community House Middle School that provides food assistance to families connected to 12 of our Ballantyne-area public schools. Several members of our congregation already serve regularly with this wonderful organization. If you are not familiar with BFHNIN, we highly encourage you to learn more and consider getting involved!
There are many ways to serve throughout the year, including donating nonperishable food through their Amazon Wishlist, making handmade cards or Birthday Blessing Kits, providing financial or corporate support, shopping for needed groceries, packing food at the pantry, and helping deliver food to local schools on Thursday mornings throughout the school year from 9:30-11:00 or 11:30 a.m. It is a wonderful opportunity to help care for our neighbors and support children and families right here in our community. A perk is that it is close to home and allows your children and youth to serve too😊
