January 29, 2024SMPC Serves Breakfast to Center of Hope Guests on a Freezing Morning
SMPC served breakfast to a large crowd Saturday morning, January 20.
Center of Hope Breakfast leader Bob Williamson said they were lucky to have two “newbie” servers, Lee Martin and the “Chancel Choir’s own” Sandra Carr (who celebrated her birthday by serving!). They also welcomed back Tara Garrity to serving and were blessed to have the “regulars,” Bill Ramsey, Ruby Robinson, Toby and Gary Sunstrom, and, of course, Bob Williamson!

Hospitality Overflows at SMPC
Serving lemonade is a family affair! Just ask the Wooley father/son duo. 🙂 If you would like to help on any Sunday, please contact Terry Gaines. Who knows, you could also get creative with how the lemonades are displayed (the thought behind the rectangle was that they are easier to reach when they are on the edge). Our SMPC children have the best ideas!
SMPC Youth Brings Joy and Board Game Fun to Seniors
SMPC Youth visited residents at Legacy Heights Senior Living Community on Sunday, January 21. The group played board games and made crafts together. What a fun event!
SMPC Donates Medical Equipment to Local Nonprofit
We recently donated medical equipment that was being stored in one of our closets to Assist M.E., a local nonprofit that collects gently used wheelchairs and other essential mobility-related medical equipment and gifts to uninsured or underinsured Charlotteans. The church donated three full-size wheelchairs, seven walkers, one bedside potty, one knee scooter, one shower seat and two canes.
We still have medical equipment that is available for use. If you need to borrow any equipment, please contact Steve Stevenson.
