November 13, 2024Confirmands Enjoy Fellowship, Fun and Service during the 2024 Confirmation Retreat
The SMPC 2024 Confirmation Retreat was so much fun! The group spent the weekend learning and growing in faith and had a ton of fun along the way. They bowled at Sports Connection, served at Crisis Assistance, and had lunch at Optimist Hall!!
Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions/Outreach Lindsey Odom said the theme of the 2024 Confirmation Retreat was “Connected, Confirmed, and Commissioned.” This theme helped confirmands develop a deeper understanding of themselves as God’s beloved children, created in the image of God who are joined to the church at baptism and called and commissioned through the program of confirmation to live a life that increases good in the world and creates justice, love and peace for all.
A BIG Thank you to our wonderful confirmation mentors and parent volunteers/drivers Amy Latzke, Cristy Powell, Barbara Lee, Allison King, and Steve Williams! And thank you to Lindsey Odom for her dedication and love for our youth!!

Pastor Matt Brown officiated, while the children of SMPC members Jessica and Andrew Metzler (and niece and nephew to the bride) were flower girl and ring bearer. Elizabeth, who was confirmed at SMPC, met James in Durham, NC and the couple now resides in St. Louis. Congratulations to the whole family!
