You Are Invited! New Details on Matt and Donna’s Retirement Celebrations

We hope you can join us for some or all of the celebrations planned to honor Donna and Matt upon Matt’s retirement after serving for over 21 years as pastor of SMPC. Let’s send them off to a happy and healthy retirement with love and light!

A commemorative book will be placed in the narthex this Sunday, November 16, and next Sunday, November 23, for you to write a note to Matt and Donna upon their retirement! The commemorative book will also be in Mecklenburg Hall during Matt’s reception on Sunday, November 23. If you are unable to sign the book in person, please email Adrienne Jaquith with your message, and she will write it in the book for you (her handwriting is A++!!).

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22

4:00-6:00 p.m. – Parking lot party with outdoor games & food trucks

• Dress comfy!
• Outdoor games for the whole family
• Bring a lawn chair and/or blanket
• We’ll have two food trucks: Uno Tacos (see menu) and Chips & Dip (see menu). Both trucks take cash, Venmo and credit card

6:30-7:30 p.m. – Live bluegrass music in the sanctuary, featuring Rowan Junction

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. -Reception in Mecklenburg Hall with sweet and savory bites, punch and live jazz music by Walt Kuchinski

• Brownies
• Matt’s favorite mint brownies (a special recipe!)
• Chocolate chip cookies
• Lemon squares
• Nutmeg molasses cookies
• Mini quiches

• Pimento cheese sandwiches on mini potato buns
• Fresh grapes
• SMPC’s famous punch and watre
