- Story Connection: Watch They’re So Flamboyant by Michael Genhart. The book is fun and full of bright, bold birds. At first, some birds don’t understand why the flamingos act so differently. But by the end, they realize that their differences actually make life more fun! That’s a lot like today’s Bible story—Peter thought only certain people were included in God’s family. But God showed him that everyone belongs.
- Blob Tag (God’s Love Grows): Play a game of “Blob Tag” together. Start with one person as “Peter.” Everyone else spreads out. When Peter tags someone, that person joins hands with them, becoming part of the growing “blob.” Keep playing until everyone is connected. After the game, talk about how the “blob” kept growing and including more people—just like Peter learned that God’s love keeps growing and welcoming others.
- Simple Craft: “God Made Us All Different” Collage
Create a simple collage that celebrates the beauty of diversity. Gather paper, markers or crayons, and (if you have them) old magazines or printed images of people. Draw or cut out pictures of people who look different from one another—different ages, colors, clothes, backgrounds, or abilities. Arrange these images around a large heart drawn on a piece of paper or poster board. Inside the heart, write: “God’s Love Has No Bounds.”
- Journaling Questions
- How do you think Peter felt when he realized God’s love is for everyone?
- Who do we sometimes forget to include?
- What other bible stories can you think of where animals are a part of the story?
- I wonder how our world would look if we loved people the way God does.
