June 7, 2023Scouts Honor Veterans
Over the weekend, Scout Troops 119 and 219 placed about 500 American flags at the headstones of fallen veterans at Forest Lawn West cemetery in honor of Memorial Day. It was the troops’ 18th year honoring veterans in this way. We are so proud of their commitment to honoring the bravest among us!
Holy Spirit’s Presence Felt on Pentecost Sunday
It was a beautiful Pentecost Sunday! Thank you to all who wore red, recalling the fiery tongues that descended on the disciples when they received the Holy Spirit!

We celebrated the baptism of of Thomas Duke Klecker, son of Julianne and Jack Klecker and grandson of Jane and Tom Klecker. Congratulations to the entire Klecker family!
At the end of worship, we blessed Welcome Home Baskets that were full of essential home items and cleaning supplies donated by SMPC members for the women and children who are moving out of Center of Hope and into permanent housing. In total, we donated 12 complete Welcome Home Baskets!
From our prayer of dedication: “We give you praise for those who will benefit from these baskets and ask your blessing upon their lives. As their time of homelessness ends and as they settle into their new homes, may they feel God’s love through the presence of these gifts.”
Thank you to all who contributed and who continue to support the women and children served by Center of Hope.
