The Rain or Shine group had their end-of-season get-together at The Garrison last week where they enjoyed fellowship and celebrated reading “The Book of Longings” by Sue Monk Kidd!
BSA Troop 119 Member Beautifies Church Campus with Eagle Scout Project
On Friday, May 3, BSA Troop 119 member Jackson B. and friends and family completed his project for Eagle Scout, and we are so thankful! Jackson installed a new brick pathway that connects the sidewalk from the church office to the Palmer building. Additionally, he and his crew added beautiful landscaping. It looks amazing, and we are so thankful for his service and dedication!

SMPC Members and Friends Donate Blood to Save Lives
Thank you to all who donated blood at our American Red Cross Blood Drive on Saturday, May 4! We had 23 donors and collected 24 total product (whole blood and power red combined). The heavy rain didn’t deter donors – we even had six walk-in donors! Thank you to volunteers Tony and Helen Castle, Manny Villa and Bill Ramsey for their service at the Drive.
A Little Rain Won’t Deter Fellowship
Hops and Vine Around Town met on Saturday, May 4 for fun and fellowship at the Carolina Butcher and Beer Garden in Indian Land. The group had a great turnout despite the yucky weather!

Confirmands Share Faith Statements at Confirmation Luncheon
The 2024 Confirmands shared their Faith Statements with their mentors, families, and Elders on Session during this year’s Confirmation lunch held after worship on Sunday, May 5. We are constantly in awe of the creativity, energy and devotion Confirmands put into writing their Faith Statements. They are truly inspirations to us all. We will continue to pray for this class of Confirmands and look forward to witnessing their Confirmation this Sunday, May 12 during worship.

BYG Welcomes Rising Sixth Graders for BIG Fun
May BYG (Big Youth Group), which usually includes middle and high schoolers, welcomed fifth graders on Sunday evening, May 5! The group of 54 youth gathered for fun and fellowship and learned about Psalm 104:30 in connection with God’s creation and what it calls us to do in taking care of everyone and everything. They also enjoyed pizza and ice cream sandwiches.

SMPC Preschool Teachers Treated to Lunch for Teacher Appreciation Week
Our beloved SMPC Preschool teachers enjoyed a delicious lunch on Wednesday, May 8 to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. Preschool parents took over in the classrooms to watch the children while teachers relaxed and dined together. We are so thankful for this incredible group of educators who love our preschool children BIG.
