Generations Unite in Gratitude: Volunteers Assemble Thanksgiving Meal Kits
Thank you to everyone who donated items and attended our Intergenerational Mission Project on Sunday, November 12. We assembled 40 Thanksgiving meal kits for families in need at Smithfield Elementary! The meal kits were loaded in cars and delivered to Smithfield on Monday morning. It was incredible to see our church members of all ages come together to help others have a joyful Thanksgiving.
SMPC Chancel Ringers Shine at Handbell Festival
Our talented Chancel Ringers spent Saturday, November 11 at the 27th annual Midcarolinas Handbell Festival presented by the Charlotte Bronze Handbell Ensemble. The group arrived before 8 a.m. on Saturday, practiced new music all day with handbell ensembles from the region, and performed that afternoon to a packed house at Sardis Presbyterian Church. The Chancel Ringers then turned around and played new music during worship the next morning! We are so blessed to have such talented ringers who are committed (and excited) to take on a challenge like that. Thank you to Director of Music and Organist Zach Bowyer for his leadership and to the members of the Chancel Ringers for representing SMPC so beautifully.
