September 6, 2023Seen Around Church – Week of September 17, 2023
September 20, 2023Sunday Morning Shines Bright
This past Sunday morning was busy, busy!
We had children fill two rooms in the Chapel building during Children’s Worship!
The Chancel Choir sang “Happy Birthday” to choir members Marge Kruse and Helen Castle, who celebrated birthdays on September 10 and September 11, respectively.
The Scouts sold BBQ and veggie chili – we are always grateful for our Scout leaders, including SMPC Facility Administrator Steve Stevenson (far left) who often pulls double duty for the church and Scouts on Sundays!
Children and Youth Ministries Kick Off Fall Programs
We kicked off the fall season with a BUSY day of children and youth ministry events on Sunday! We are so blessed to have so many smiling faces at SMPC ready to grow in friendship, love and faith.
Here’s a quick look:
- Youth Choir and Youth Ringers began rehearsals with a NEW Middle School Ringers, led by Gayle Ireland and Helen Castle.
- Big Youth Group (BYG) met for fellowship, devotion and fun with over 40 middle and high schoolers!
- Confirmation classes launched.
- Bible and Music (BAM!) kicked off the season with crafts, tunes and laughs with 40 children!
Thank you to our leaders, volunteers, and parents who invest their time and love in the faith of our children and youth!
They ‘Stole’ Our Hearts: Youth Gift New Associate Pastor With Beautiful Stole
The middle school and high school youth and their families gifted newly ordained Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions/Outreach Lindsey Odom a gorgeous stole this past Sunday. We are so blessed with an active and engaged Youth Ministry, and a big part of that is because of its leadership and volunteers! Thank you to everyone who contributed to this incredible sign of love for Lindsey!
“I love the stole so much,” said Lindsey. “I am so incredibly appreciative of everyone’s constant love and support of me and my ministry!”
