Faithful Feathery Friends: Ralphie and Earl Beeson

This Sunday, September 22 at 3:15 p.m. we hope you’ll join us for our special Blessing of the Animals event! As we anticipate this special blessing, we are highlighting some of our church members’ special animals (think “Faces of Faith” for pets!). This week’s spotlight is on Ralphie and Earl Beeson. These two feathered friends are Marlene Beeson’s devoted sidekicks, by her side with wings of loyalty!!

Reminder! All furry and feathery pets are invited to the Blessing of the Animals, but we do ask for just a couple of things: 1. Please make sure that pets are on leashes, crates or cages and that they are happy in social situations. 2. Please, no reptiles! You are WELCOME to bring a photo of your animal to be blessed. Enjoy getting to know Ralphie and Earl, the last in our Faithful Furry and Feathery Friends series!

Names and Bio: Ralphie (short for Rafaela) is a female, 15-year-old Sun Conure Parrot. Earl is a male, 7-year-old Curl Crested Aracari (a type of toucan).

Favorite Food: Ralphie loves spaghetti and seeds and fruit! Earl only eats certain types of fruit. His favorite are blueberries and bananas.

Place where we feel God’s presence the most: We both feel God’s presence the most when we are outside together, hearing the birds, feeling the breeze and the sunshine.

A little more about these beautiful birds from Marlene:

They are both very loving and friendly birds. I have had them their whole lives and have been their only mom. You can pet them like dogs, and they snuggle. I believe that animals are gifts from God, and Ralphie and Earl are my gifts from Him. They are different species and different sized birds, so they have separate houses (we don’t call them cages!). They have special carriers that hook up to a baby stroller, so I refer to that as our “mobile aviary.” We get a lot of attention!
