We’ll share video and the transcripts each week. We hope you enjoy this series, Reflections of Hope, and consider making a pledge as we embrace the hope that flows from God’s grace, inspiring our collective efforts as a faith community.
Lisa Kuszmar, Sunday, October 13, 2024
Good morning, my name is Lisa Kuszmar and I am a member of choir, a first time elder and on the Stewardship Committee. My family and I have been members of SMPC since 2017.
As Greg Hobby shared last week our theme this year is Live Into Hope, inspired by Ephesians 1 verse 17 to 19.
17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, 18so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, 19and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power.
We are each focused on a particular part of the verse and I have honed in on
“Your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do”
I love SMPC because it helps keep my eyes focused and clear. We have pastors and Christian educators who open our hearts and minds week in and week out and remind us in this crazy world who we are and whose we are.
With clear eyes we can then see exactly what he is calling us to do! And at SMPC there is so much to do! As someone who works in marketing, I love that our website breaks it down in three easy parts, Serve our World, Serve our Community, Serve our Church.
SMPC supports Haiti through our work with Friends Empowering Haiti
SMPC supports our community in so many ways! Blood drives, A Roof Above, Cetner of Hope breakfasts, The Crop Walk, Nourish UP, Room at the Inn, Smithfield Elementary, and the list goes on!
So what are we going to be called to do this year? What ever it is it needs to be funded and
Our committee wants to encourage this congregation to Live Into HOPE so we can see clearly what we are meant to do as a church family and prayerfully help us provide for the Church’s financial needs in 2025. Please turn in your pledge card or complete it online by November 3
