Making Space Moms Group Meet for a Movie
The Making Space Moms Group met up for a fun night out at the Regal Cinemas at Stonecrest on Thursday, May 4 to see “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.”
SMPC Church Members Donate Blood
Several SMPC members donated blood in our American Red Cross Blood Drive on Saturday, May 6. And a big thank you to our coordinator, Tierra Sandeen! The next SMPC American Red Cross Blood Drive is Saturday, August 12.
SMPC Director of Music and Organist Plays with Raleigh Ringers
Our very own Zach Bowyer, director of music and organist, served as the collaborative organist for The Raleigh Ringers on Sunday, May 7 at Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte. He played Michael Keller’s arrangement of “Hymn to Joy” with them. We couldn’t be prouder of you, Zach!! It was a beautiful event!
Scouts Troop 219 Member Builds New School Bus for SMPC Preschool’s Playground
Honk, Honk, Hooray! Scouts Troop 219 member Brooke Dabney finished her Eagle Project over the weekend, and the SMPC Preschool children (and many others!) couldn’t be more excited. Brooke, with the help of several friends, disassembled the play school bus that was on the playground and built a brand new one. What a special project that will be enjoyed for many years to come. 2023 Confirmands Meet for Lunch, Share Statements of Faith
Our confirmands enjoyed lunch with mentors, clergy and members of Session on Sunday, May 7. Hearing our confirmands read their Statements of Faith brought us so much joy – we pray they will continue to serve as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ each and every day.

We look forward to Confirmation Sunday this weekend where confirmands will profess their faith and become members of the church. Plan to stay afterward as we celebrate them with a reception and cake in the narthex!
