SMPC Youth Spread Cheer (and Krispy Kremes!!) at Room in the Inn
SMPC Youth Elise U. and Emery H. volunteered at Room in the Inn (along with more SMPC volunteers!) last Sunday evening. Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions/Outreach Lindsey Odom said she, Elise and Emery bonded with the three teenage girls who were staying at Room in the Inn through card games, Play-Doh, charades and donuts!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time with this important mission!

Adult Study Explores How Science and Faith Complement and Enrich Each Other
The Adult Spiritual Formation wrapped up its Adult Study, “Wonder: What Science and Theology Add to the Human Experience,” last Sunday, March 2. During the four-week study, led by SMPC members Karl Schelhammer (pictured below) and Reyn Wheeler and Reverend Bill Dysard, participants discussed how to bridge the gap between faith and science and explored how these two ways of understanding the world can complement and enrich one another. Thank you to all who joined us – especially those new to Adult studies at SMPC!

Looks Like We Got the Same Memo!
A couple of cute “We’re twinning!” moments from Sunday:
The first “look alikes” are Rev. Lindsey Odom and one of our acolytes, Reese E. who both wore “sparkly kicks” on Sunday! Also pictured below with Lindsey and Reese (bottom right) are Reese’s acolyte partner, Lydia, and Lydia’s mom, Elizabeth.
The second “Wait, we’re twinning!” moment was between ushers Donna Podgorny and Judy Jones! We love it!!

Shrove Tuesday Celebration Brings SMPC Together in Spirit and Service
Over 100 SMPC members and friends began their Lenten journey at SMPC’s Shrove Tuesday’s Pancake Supper this week. It was such a beautiful, uplifting evening of fellowship and delicious food. Thank you to our volunteers and Hospitality Committee for continuing to provide events like these that allow us to connect and grow in friendship and faith.
Also, thank you to all who brought breakfast items for Center of Hope! One thing that we want to keep in your hearts is how much bacon and eggs are comfort foods to our neighbors – but they’re also very costly right now! Please considering donating money toward the bacon and eggs we purchase each month when we serve breakfast to Center of Hope guests! Our next breakfast is Saturday, March 15. Sign up to serve or donate food/money here.
