June 23, 2025Rollin’ Down the River: SMPC Youth Float into Summer
Our middle and high schoolers kicked off summer with a FUN event last Thursday, June 12. The group tubed down the Catawba River – what an awesome way to spend the first week of summer! They also enjoyed a BBQ lunch and snow cones. Thank you to our youth who spent the day with us – it was so wonderful to “disconnect and reconnect.” Thank you to Associate Pastor of Youth and Missions/Outreach Lindsey Odom and our fearless chaperones for your time, energy and love for our youth! We look forward to a FUN summer ahead!

Summer Can’t Stop SMPC Supper Circles
Some of our SMPC Supper Circles use the easy summer months to meet up for fellowship and connection (and lots of delish food!). Recently, Carol and Ron Morgan, Lina and Chuck Griffiths, Donna Podgorny and Bob Williamson, Marge Kruse and Kay Dano met for dinner at Marge’s house and were able to take advantage of a relatively cool evening for supper outside! If you are interested in joining a Supper Circle, please contact Melissa White.

We Love Summer Helpers!
One of the best parts of summer is seeing our youth and children around campus during the week! These two cuties spent their summer morning helping us organize the Children’s Worship bags. Thank you, Clara and Natalya!

Construction Underway on Church’s Lower Lot
This week, construction crews have been working to expand the church’s lower lot. This project was planned in coordination with the City’s traffic circle project. The lower lot should be open and accessible by Sunday!
Piedmont Music Therapy Hosts Spring Recital in Mecklenburg Hall
Many community groups meet on our campus each week or use our facilities for events! One of these community groups is Piedmont Music Therapy. They hosted their spring recital in Mecklenburg Hall recently and were kind enough to send us some photos. You can also check out their thanks to SMPC in their newsletter here.
